IBE Lease Extension Update:
The IBE Board of Director’s have been advised by the Akisq’nuk First Nation that the IBE Lease Extension vote planned for December 1, 2009 has been delayed.
INAC has assigned a new lawyer to the file who is currently familiarizing himself with the history before allowing the process to proceed.
At present, the Board does not anticipate a significant delay. The Akisq’nuk First Nation shares our disappointment and frustration with this delay and are working with INAC to reset the vote date as soon as possible.
As more information becomes available we will make every effort to keep you informed on this important matter!
